Batting Gloves Leather Types

Cricket Batting Gloves are made of several materials. The art of glove making takes a huge labor work and hence they need professionals with years of experience to deliver the quality product.

We at BG Cricket take pride in our soft goods, never heard of the term soft goods well it means Cricket products which are soft in nature such as pads, gloves, thigh pads.

There are two types of leather used on the palm of the cricket glove (Pittard or Sheep). What is the difference?

Pittards - It is used for highest quality finish with longer durability. If you are one of those who use 2-3 gloves a year, the chances are you are using sheep leather gloves. The sweat from your palm comes on the top of the glove, eventually making it loose its shape. This is where you need to switch to pittards and that too higher quality. Our players range is exactly what you need. Checkout BG Players or BG Signature range of batting gloves. Pittards doesn't sweat on the surface hence is comfortable to grip or hold the bat always. You can now play longer innings without having to switch a lot of gloves during your innings.

Sheep - The sheep leather is cheaper in comparison to pittards and does sweat on the palm. This is good if you are budget constraint but ensure you are always getting good quality sheep leather made cricket batting gloves. Cheaper the material, shorter the durability and more the money you will end up spending in long run.

You can always ping us if you are in doubt on which one to buy. We sell containers worth soft goods each year and the only reason is people love the quality of soft gears we deliver.
